Mary Ann Manning’s final dance was in front of her family, friends, and loved ones at her son’s wedding. Watch (above) as the 61-year-old lady Dublin, CA, resident was fighting cancer her son was planning a wedding.
She didn’t care if they had to fill her full of chemo or anything else, she was determined to be there.
Not only did Mary Ann make it to the wedding in Dana Point, but she danced with her son at the reception.
“I think that everybody kind of realized what they were seeing and what they were seeing was an incredibly strong woman doing a magnificent thing. A miracle,” Ryan said.
Determined to beat the wreckage cancer had wrought in her body, Mary Ann placed her hands on her son’s shoulders and the two delicately swayed to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
The moment was captured on video.
Just a few months before the wedding, the family says Mary Ann was confined to wheelchair and appeared to be losing her battle with the disease.
“It was incredibly emotional, especially to see her pop out of the wheelchair,” said daughter Karie Chamberlain. “For the days leading up to the wedding, we were helping her do everything, even walk. To see her just jump up, it was amazing.”
As if she was holding on to make it to the wedding, she passed away 3 days later.
