An American flag that was flown over the World Trade Center ruins after 9/11 and was stolen last week from the front porch of the family of a fallen firefighter has been returned with an apology note.
According to an NBC Affiliate the note read:”
“I am so sorry, I had no idea.”
The flag was returned just before the 4th of July holiday.
The stolen flag was more than just a memento to the family. It was given to them by the September 11th Families Association in honor of her brother’s sacrifice.
