Donald Trump went no holds barred on the topic of Anthony Weiner, husband of longtime Hillary Clinton Aide, Huma Abedin, former candidate for mayor of New York City, and prolific self-tweeter.
Trump pounded Weiner, a man notorious for having sexted with women other than his wife while using the name ‘Carlos Danger,’ referring to him as “one of the great sleazebags of our time.”
He later called Weiner a “perv.”
Trump’s larger point was that Abedin, who also had a private e-mail account similar to Clinton’s, likely shared classified information from the State Department with her husband. In turn, since Weiner was so incapable of controlling himself on social media, he could have put himself, and that information in play for blackmail.
Via the Washington Post:
Republican front-runner Donald Trump attacked longtime Hillary Rodham Clinton aide Huma Abedin on Friday, crudely joking about how Abedin’s husband, former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner, was caught in a sexting scandal, and suggesting Abedin “can’t see straight” for marrying the now disgraced Democrat.
In rambling remarks in Norwood, Mass., on Friday evening, Trump referred to Clinton’s political problems stemming from her use of a private e-mail server when she was secretary of state. Clinton “has a lot of problems,” including that much information went through Abedin, Trump said.
“How ’bout Huma?” Trump asked the crowd. “Okay, here’s the story. So Huma, now, is one of the people that it all sorta came through Huma. Who is Huma married to? One of the great sleazebags of our time.”
“So Huma is getting classified secrets. She’s married to Anthony Weiner, who’s a perv,” Trump said. Abedin no doubt shared information with Weiner, “who she’s probably desperately in love with, in all fairness to Anthony, ‘cuz why else would she marry this guy,” Trump asserted. “Can you believe it? Can’t see straight.”

Weiner would respond by saying Trump’s insinuation that his wife may have shared secret information with him was “absurd” and “outrageous.”
Which, incidentally, were two words he used when initially denying he had sent out naked pictures of himself on Twitter years ago. And we all know how that turned out.
Comment: Did Trump make a bigger point about the sensitivity of classified documents, or was he simply taking a good shot at Anthony Weiner for the fun of it?
