There are a lot of controversial books out there. Mainly because of their depictions of sex, violence, or perhaps strong language.
But we have the First Amendment that protects writers. It also, and just as importantly, allows readers to READ the books they want.
Most books that make the “Banned” or “Challenge” lists are considered unsuitable for children and even unsuitable for the public at large.
A lot of books come to mind, but certainly not THIS one…
On the latest list of books most objected to at public schools and libraries, one title has been targeted nationwide, at times for the sex and violence it contains, but mostly for the legal issues it raises.
“You have people who feel that if a school library buys a copy of the Bible, it’s a violation of church and state,” says James LaRue, who directs the Office for Intellectual Freedom for the American Library Association, which released its annual 10 top snapshot of “challenged” books on Monday, part of the association’s “State of Libraries Report” for 2016.
People are challenging the holy word of God now? What is happening to this country!?
Some people are embracing our Christian heritage.
But others are spitting on HIS word!
I am pretty upset by this, aren’t you?
Share if you believe there should be a Bible in EVERY classroom!
