Country music star Blake Shelton, yes the one dating Gwen Stefani, is getting a mouthful from haters after someone who had too much time on their hands went through his Twitter feed to pull up entries from over six years ago.
Blake is a respected singer in the industry and has a lot of friends, so hopefully, these old tweets aren’t going to hurt him in any way.
What gets me is somebody sitting in their filthy underwear with mounds of pizza boxes, and Chinese takeout would have the audacity to do this.
Reality and opinions change over time. His probably did also. Six years ago seems so far away. Point being, we are all evolving and hopefully will be able to coexist without prejudice towards anyone.
Everyone should just leave this couple alone and let them live:
From Daily Mail:
Blake Shelton is facing a social media storm after fans uncovered racist, homophobic and sexist Tweets he is thought to have posted five years ago.
The social media posts – which have since been deleted – included jokes about a non-English speaker being a bomber and a ‘fantasy’ about then 16-year-old Dakota Fanning.
The authenticity of the posts, which are said to have been shared in 2011, has not been independently verified.
Twitter users posted screenshots of the messages and accused The Voice US star, 40, of deleting the ‘disgusting’ and ‘extremely offensive’ tweets.
Shelton – who has been dating songstress Gwen Stefani for almost a year – of the notes likened a foreign language speaker to terrorism.
The tweet read: ‘Wish the d******** in the next room would either shut up or learn some English so I would at least know what he’s planning to bomb.’
Tweeters were outraged at the suspected Islamophobic rhetoric, writing: ‘You can delete a tweet, but the Internet will never forget. Blake Shelton is Islamophobic garbage. Don’t support him…’
Another user wrote: ‘Wow what a shocker. Blake Shelton posted a racist and Islamophobic tweet. Doesn’t help with his bad deafening music.’
Shelton was also branded a sexist following a tweet which read: ‘I was 19 years old when my heart first got broken. I’m over it now but I wonder what that fat ugly b**** is up to.’
The homophobic allegations stem from a message reading: ‘Grown men who wear Chuck Taylor’s may as well write on their forehead ‘Cucumbers turn me on!”
Another note was pointed towards fitness guru Richard Simmons: ‘If you haven’t noticed Richard Simmons is gay, you haven’t noticed Katy Perrys boobs… (sic)’.
The legendary star has never responding to speculation regarding his sexuality.
The tweets were funny. Did he mention race? I swear political correctness should be categorized as a mental illness because they seem to want to root endlessly around to discover an irrelevant issue that will allow them to sit on the moral high ground while totally ignoring things like the cultural suppression of women, FGM, child brides, the genocide of minorities, etc.
Those are some solidly amusing tweets. Good for him. The triggered millennials who were offended by them can go and jump off a cliff while chasing Pokémon.
