The Speaker of the House, Rep. John Boehner, is to retire from Congress.
The Ohio lawmaker will step down at the end of October.
There’s no word yet on who his replacement will be as Speaker, but many right-wingers will be delighted that a man who they regard as insufficiently conservative will no longer be leading the GOP in the House.
On the other hand, Boehner won key concession from the President on the budget and federal spending limits, and there’s no guarantee that his successor will have similar success.
So what do you think? Is Speaker Boehner’s retirement something to celebrate… or will conservatives regret his leaving? Let us know below.
