Liberal College Dean Plays Race Card, Until Video Proved Her A LIAR

According to her own byline, Dorothy Bland is the dean of the Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism and the director for the Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism at the University of North Texas.

She’s also a raging liar and a blithering idiot, which shows the state our society and our education system these days.

Bland was stopped as she took a morning stroll through her neighborhood because she kept walking in front of oncoming traffic.  It was a simple, routine stop.

But Bland decided to get her 15 minutes of fame by portraying the police officers as racist in an op-ed at the Dallas Morning News.

She claimed she had been stopped for “walking while black,” and that she was so frightened by the officers who are bigger and have guns, that she complied because she “had no interest in my life’s story playing out like Trayvon Martin’s death.”

During the encounter with officers, Bland said she thought of “Freddie Gray and the dozens of others who have died while in police custody.”

Bland would conclude that she had been stopped simply for being “a brown face in an affluent neighborhood.”

Unfortunately for the college Dean, the police officers that stopped her turned on their dash cam and recorded this interaction:

The video shows Bland exercising but occasionally wandering into the middle of the road as a police car drives up behind her.

It also shows officer being courteous and respectful, urging her to walk on the opposite side of the street so that she can see oncoming traffic.

They were concerned about her safety.

The police department contacted the Dallas Morning News and responded to Ms. Bland, calling her out.

“The citizens of Corinth as a whole are a highly educated population, and it is disappointing that one of our residents would attempt to make this a racial issue when clearly it is not.”

Comment:  What do you think the repercussions for Ms. Bland’s lies will be? Had she succeeded in portraying the officers as racist, they could have been suspended or fired from their job. Now that we know she lied, what price will the Dean have to pay? Will the school reprimand her? Share your thoughts below.

The problem here is slander viz a vie her newspaper article. If there are false statements made on public records, then there should be a mandatory 3 year jail sentence and a $10,000. fine. You’d see how quickly how the bull—- would stop. The newspaper should also be held accountable./…..

  2. Ronald says:

Nothing whatsoever will happen to her. She should, at the very least, lose her position, and be banned from calling herself a ‘journalist’, and banned from teaching.

  3. Sid says:

A supposed Dean who doesn’t know one of the first things taught in Kindergarten which side of the street to walk on and she was all over the road as well. I spend almost 30 years in Transit and the most common experience I had with people like her was helping fire police and paramedics pick up the bodies..

I’m puzzled on why would u choose to walk on the road when u have a sidewalk? U don’t always have that what I call a luxury, clearly I would feel much safer on the sidewalk. I see this ALL to often.
