Country Legend Randy Travis Just Made a HUGE, Life-Changing Announcement (Incredible!)

1randy-wife

Randy Travis is a country music superstar, and his music has touched the lives of millions. However, we haven’t heard from him in a few years, as he has been suffering from a life threatening stroke and has been moving through the rehabilitation process.

However, at last weekend’s Academy of Country Music Awards, he made a surprise appearance. We’re happy to report he is doing well, and he just married his girlfriend, Mary Davis! Fantastic news!

Randy Travis is married!

Travis’ rep has confirmed that the country superstar married Mary Davis on March 21.

The Cooke County clerk’s office in Texas told PEOPLE that Travis, 55, and Davis were married by Pastor Tommy Nelson from Denton, Texas.

The legend – who suffered a debilitating stroke nearly two years ago – has been filled with wonderful surprises of late.

Travis made a surprise appearance Sunday at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where he quietly stood and acknowledged the thunderous applause from the audience following Lee Brice’s introduction of him after playing a verse of Travis’ hit “Forever and Ever, Amen.”

I am very happy to hear this news, and am happy you are doing so well. I too, had a stroke at 55 years old and it gave me the strength to get out of an unhappy marriage and move on to a quiet happier life with my grandchildren and my dogs. Strokes have a way of telling us we do not live forever and that it is best to be happy in our time left. Good luck and congrats to you both.

You’ve been missed, really glad you’re doing better. I suspect you’re like me in that there have been times when you’ve been overcome by a feeling of loneliness or depression and made some bad choices. And like me you finally got humble enough to reach out and accept the help and love people feel for you. I’ll be praying for you to continue your journey on this road of life with all the twists and turns. God willing I’ll hear you soon on the radio or TV and like other friends of Bill I’ll Thank the Big Guy for helping you along the road. Wishing you the very best. Tim a friend of Bill
