Country music star Craig Morgan, who is known for the hit Redneck Yacht Club, has been frantically searching for his son who has gone missing following a tragic boating accident in Tennessee on Sunday.
Their son, Jerry Greer, is aged 19, and Craig and his wife Karen are asking for privacy during the rescue effort.
From Fox News:
“The family is grateful for everyone’s support and prayers and requests privacy during this difficult time,” the statement read.
According to WSMV-TV, two teenagers were seen tubing in Humphreys County, Tennessee, when they collided. While both boys were reportedly wearing life jackets, one of the boys, reported to be Morgan’s son, did not resurface.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Sunday.
A reporter for WSMV-TV tweeted that police are focusing on a 5- to 10-acre area of Kentucky Lake where the water goes as deep as 15 feet.
Morgan and his wife have four children together including Jerry, who recently graduated from Dickinson Country High School.
“I have a wonderful family,” Morgan told FOX411 Country in 2015. “My wife is great and supportive, making sure that I’m doing the things I need to be doing at home and that I need to be doing out on the road.”
Before becoming a country music star, Morgan served for nearly a decade in the United States Army.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Morgan and his entire family as he hope his son is found safely.
