At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Senator Ted Cruz tore into State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf for her ‘utterly nonsensical’ plan to fight the Islamic State through jobs.
Sean Hannity spoke with Cruz during a Q&A session after Cruz’ speech, and asked the possible 2016 presidential contender what America needs to do to combat terrorism.
Cruz responded succinctly, “We need a commander-in-chief who will actually stand up and defend the United State of America.”
Cruz wasn’t finished there.
“We need to stop this bizarre, Orwellian double-speak,” he explained. “We cannot defeat radical Islamic terrorism with a President who is unwilling to utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism.'”
Cruz went on to lambaste Harf’s proposal that we can’t defeat ISIS by killing them, we need to get them jobs and lift them out of poverty.
“What utter and complete nonsense!” he shouted.
“Listen, that is precisely how we win this. We kill the terrorist leaders before they kill us!”
