Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) wants your vote, and she’s willing to do just about anything to get it – shaking hands, kissing babies, pouring beer directly into the mouths of college students.
No, seriously. She’s willing to do that.
Photos have emerged over the weekend showing the Senator helpfully pouring beer into the mouth of an LSU Tigers’ fan.
Via the Washington Post:
The Louisiana State University’s football team, the Tigers, played the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Baton Rouge on Saturday night. As a result, it felt as though half the state was crammed onto the campus to celebrate and tailgate beforehand. Which Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) clearly saw as a great, if intimidating, campaign opportunity, as the photos of her helping an LSU fan put a spigot in his mouth while doing a keg stand seem to show.
Here are some of the soon to be infamous photos…
The initial pic was tweeted out by Ellen Carmichael:
No, really. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) poured beer into the mouth of a dude doing a keg stand today pic.twitter.com/RVwkBYt5QR

And here’s another angle for good measure:

Landrieu, who is approaching 60-years-old, didn’t mind aiding a 20-year-old with his keg stand, but drew a line in the sand when it came to actually chugging.
Via Mother Jones:
“My first keg stand,” Landrieu says, as we walk away. “He wanted me to do it, but I said absolutely not—at least not in front of the national press.” What if it would’ve won her some votes? “That’s alright—I’m not that desperate.”
Perhaps she was simply trying to sell the college football fans on the concept of Obamacare.
On a far more serious note, did Landrieu and her people not vet the optics of such a photo reaching out across the internet?
Especially when her 21-year-old son was arrested for DWI just over a year ago? Frank Connor Snellings was arrested last June when his car that was traveling the wrong way down a one way street struck a pedestrian.
At the time of the arrest, Landrieu stated “we are extremely disappointed by his irresponsible actions last night.”
