Compared to what Democrats have been doing with their conventions, 2012 was boring for the Republican Party! Whether you love him or hate him, 100% agree with Trump it’s time for the Republican Party to show some style and class. It sure sounds like he’s going to turn this into a spectacular TV event.
From The Hill:
The Republican National Convention is in Quicken Loans Arena in July. But Trump is considering FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, and Progressive Field, home of MLB’s Cleveland Indians, for his headlining speech.
Trump, who clinched the nomination this week after surpassing 1,237 delegates, will give his speech on the final night of the convention.
“It’s going to be a big production,” a Trump campaign adviser told CNN. “Given Trump’s profile and how he handles things, nothing is off the table.”
Trump has criticized the 2012 GOP convention for being too boring.
President Obama in 2008 delivered his convention speech to approximately 80,000 people at Sports Authority Field in Denver, home of the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
The move to a big stadium which drew criticism from Republicans like then-vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
FirstEnergy Stadium has a capacity of 73,000 for football games. Progressive Field has a capacity of 37,675 for baseball games.
I do support Trump, and I do agree with his choice of making the Republican National Convention a larger more impressive ray of hope for the next four years. Everybody remembers what Barack Obama did in 2008 with those Greek pillars and Riding into the stadium like he was Cleopatra. I’m not asking for anything like that, but I am asking for something that people will be talking about on a positive basis throughout the general election.
The Republican Party needs to expand its thought process, I mean it is the 21st-century now. There are such things as microwave ovens, clap on and clap off lights, even fully automated driverless cars are on our highways.
I hope Trump can secure a larger venue because I know he’s going to put on a hell of a show.
