Don’t ask me what’s going on with my candidate because I couldn’t tell you. Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump has hired GOP pollster Tony Fabrizio to help guide him over the General Election part of the campaign. As you know Trump has stated in the past he didn’t need a pollster as he just went to the American people and connected with them on a one-on-one basis.
Things are changing very quickly and hopefully Trump’s supporters don’t see too much of a major shift.

From Capital New York:
After resisting hiring a pollster for months, Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has signed up veteran political strategist Tony Fabrizio, sources tell POLITICO.
Fabrizio, who advises the Florida U.S. Senate campaign of U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, was the top strategist who masterminded Gov. Rick Scott’s improbable Florida win in 2010. Fabrizio also played a top advisory role in Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin’s 2015 win. Scott and Bevin share a common trait with Trump: They were both outsider businessmen who bucked the establishment.
Fabrizio polled for Trump’s opponent, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, earlier in the year and has also worked for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and GOP presidential candidates Bob Dole in 1996 and Rick Perry in 2012, and dozens of congressmen, senators and political groups. Fabrizio couldn’t be reached and the Trump campaign would not comment for the record.
Like Trump, Fabrizio knows how to leverage controversy by playing rough. He was one of the masterminds behind the infamous Willie Horton ad that portrayed Democrat Michael Dukakis as soft on crime in the 1988 presidential elections against George H. W. Bush.

Trump in Aug.: “I don’t have pollsters. I don’t want to waste money on pollsters.” Trump today: hires Tony Fabrizio https://t.co/UJ28nVfSV4

Tony Fabrizio still is in the game? Didn’t know that.

I am still in shock. I am trying to play around in my head if this is a good idea or not but then again I’m not running for the big seat. Trump has been ahead of the game for the last nine months so to question him now would be ridiculous, but to say I didn’t have a slight hint of doubt would also be crazy.

I am sort of on the fence about this hiring as I think you dance with the date you brought to the party. Do you think the strategy will work? If you are a Trump supporter are you having second doubts? Share your opinions in the comment section below.
