Carson Park, a third-grader in in Raleigh, is fed up with the negative campaign ads in the North Carolina senate race.
She wrote a letter to Democratic Senator Kay Hagan and Republican challenger Thom Tillis:
“Why aren’t you talking about ways that you can help us? All I hear is your ads where you say mean things about each other.”
The race is one of the closest in the country, and $100 million has been spent on mostly negative TV ads.
Eight-year-old Carson said that because of the negative TV ads, “You don’t know what they’re really like.”
Are there any other candidates that should take her advice?
