Police Told This Pastor Not to Go in the Water, He DEFIED Them for THIS!

A South Carolina pastor defied police orders to save an unearthed casket from historic floodwaters.

Pastor Wayne Reeves witnessed two caskets surface and began walking towards the water, but a police officer ordered him not to go.

“That’s somebody’s family out there,” he told local reporters live on the air. “This family is suffering. They had their family out there popping up out of the ground and I think it’s the human thing to do.”

“So you’re going in right now?” News 2 reporter Matt Alba asked him.

“Right this second,” the elderly religious leader said.

And then he walked out into the waist-deep water.

That’s right. Pastor Reeves ignored the officer’s warning and went into the water to rescue the earthly remains.

“This family doesn’t want to sit out on the edge of the road all night long watching their family members bob in the water out there. That’s just not who we are,” Reeves told News 2. “If that was my mama or my dad, I would walk through hell or high water. Today it happened to be high water.”

The cousin of the deceased said she was thankful for Reeves and believes it was more than a coincidence he was there at that moment.

“With the body being out there so long and the water has been rising since Sunday, we just said, ‘Lord, cover him,’ and you know he wasn’t afraid,” Irlean Thomspon said. “God sent him out there.”

After Pastor Reeves’ example with the first casket, the Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies retrieved the second.

“This family is already hurt. They’re already hurt and I don’t want them to hurt anymore.”

You have to marvel at some Americans! They have to do the right thing or they won’t feel right. This pastor was compelled to make this decision and we applaud him and his faith.
