According to some of the latest Gallop poll results – President Obama is not doing too well among the citizens of the country.
The President, who has never had great results with Republicans is showing his worst approval ratings to date. Ninety percent of Republicans either moderately or strongly disapprove of the job that he is doing. Gallup, a widely respected American research-based company famous for its public opinion polls, typically does not ask the intensity question frequently. But in its recent August 7-10 poll, this percentage jumped 13 points from the January 2011 measure suggesting that extreme dissatisfaction among the President’s opposing party is higher than it has ever been.
It’s not just the Republicans, Independents are increasingly strongly disapproving of the job the Obama is doing in office. Fifty-four percent of Independents now either moderately disapprove or strongly disapprove of the job that the President is doing. The percentage of people who have strong disapprove his style has increased by 5 percentage points over the last 2.5 years.
His only saviors tend to be the die hard Democrats with 38% still strongly approving his job. However, that is down significantly from 65% in 2009 to 38% in August 2014. And the number who disapprove has continued to increase.
Overall, the picture does not look very inviting for Obama. Americans are more than twice as likely to say they “strongly disapprove” (39%) of President Barack Obama’s job performance as they are to say they “strongly approve” (17%). The percentage of Americans who strongly disapprove of Obama has increased over time, while the percentage who strongly approve has dropped by almost half.
