At the end of the day, the UK should do what’s in the best interest for the UK.
They are the ones who have to live with their decisions just as every nation has to live with their decisions. You would think every nation would put their interests first, including our beloved America.
You cannot pour from an empty cup. Therefore, you must take care of yourself first.
From what I know of it, the European Union (EU) is another example of globalism in a softened form. Centralization of power outside of the sovereignty of the nations themselves. Preventing nations from thinking independently about their interests. It also creates a lax nature in countries like Greece, who hitch a ride on and drag down more successful nations like Germany and the UK, and have very little reason to reform when these nations are bailing them out.
The EU also puts pressure on Russia, China and Iran to form alliances and it’s not a promising outlook when Europe (and it’s pathetic military expenditure) provokes military-run nations to team up. The EU is not a good model at the moment.
From Real Clear Politics:
At the end of this campaign I think you will agree there is a very clear choice between those on [the Remain] side who speak of nothing but fear of the consequences of leaving the EU, and we on the [Remain] side who offer hope.
Between those who have been endlessly rubbishing our country and running it down, and those of us who believe in Britain. They say we can’t do it, we say we can.
They say we have no choice but to bow down to Brussels, we say they are woefully underestimating this country and what it can do.
If we vote Leave, we can take back control of our borders, save huge sums of money… take back control of our tax raising powers, of our trade policy, and of our whole lawmaking system; the democracy that is the foundation of our prosperity.
If we stand up for democracy, we will be speaking up for hundreds of millions of [European Unions citizens] who agree with us but currently have no voice.
And if we vote to Leave, and take back control, we believe that this Thursday could be our country’s Independence Day!
Most of the articles I have read about Brexit are pro or con, speculation or opinion. This is a critical issue that could well have a common effect on finances and trade. It already is having an impact on the world stock markets worldwide before the vote.
I am for them leaving the EU although I feel that in the short term it will be bad for the USA but good in the long term. The whole world has been walking close to the edge of the cliff of depression and recession. Just perhaps this will be one of the actions needed to push us over the edge and force a correction. It’s scary that most people in the USA are unaware of what is going on.
Perhaps we should make the ostrich our national bird with its head in the sand rather than the eagle that stands for vigilance.
