As a homeless man was approached by two Houston police officers, he assumed that he was about to get in trouble. However, instead of being given a ticket, he became the recipient of an act of kindness.
Deputy Constable Felix Barrigan was driving along with his partner when they noticed a homeless man standing in a busy intersection begging for money. Just as the two got close, they could tell that he was fearful. In fact, he was even crying.
The man explained to the cops that he was trying to get home to his family in Seattle, and needed to collect $49 for his bus fare. While the officer could have written him a ticket, he chose not to. Instead, he went back to his squad car to retrieve something else.
When Officer Barrigan returned, he handed the homeless man a $100 bill to help him buy his bus ticket. The man was overjoyed by the kind gesture, hugging the officer repeatedly. For Barrigan, he was happy to be able to help out a person that was down on their luck.
He recommends that everyone who has a heart performs an act of kindness for someone else. After all, a single good deed can truly be life-changing.
Now this was a great story and a great act don’t you think? Share this with your family and friends on social media.
