During his post-game celebration, Denver Broncos quarterback and newly minted two-time Super Bowl champion, Peyton Manning, spoke of a few things that were important to him in light of his amazing victory.
Family, beer, and God. Not necessarily in that order, of course.
Manning said he hadn’t decided on whether or not he’d retire after the victory, explaining that he first had to spend time with his family, drink some beer with his teammates, and “say a prayer” and “thank you to the man upstairs.”
Watch Peyton’s comments, beginning at about the 2:00 minute mark …

Immediately following last night’s Super Bowl victory over the Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manningresponded to questions about his future in the NFL saying that he had a “couple of priorities” to take care of before he made any plans for the future, including taking time with his family, drinking “a lot of Budweiser” and thanking “the Man Upstairs for this great opportunity” to play in and win another Super Bowl.
“You know, I’ll take some time to reflect,” said Peyton Manning. “I’ve got a couple of priorities first. I want to go kiss my wife and my kids. I want to go, you know, hunt my family. I’m going to drink a lot of Budweiser tonight, Tracy. I promise you that. So I’m going to take care of those things first, and I’m definitely going to say a little prayer and thank the Man Upstairs for this great opportunity. I’m just very grateful.”
It’s refreshing to see a football star remember that family and God are the most important things to reflect upon during great times in our lives.
And a few brewskies with friends don’t hurt either.
