South Carolina governor, Nikki Haley, blasted the Black Lives Matter movement saying their riots, crime sprees, racism, and anti-police rhetoric in the name of ‘justice’ have only served to terrorize blacks themselves.
Haley, a Republican who actually led the effort to remove the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House after the Charleston shooting, stood in stark contrast to the Democrats who issued a resolution of support for the Black Lives Matter group.
She explained that the group has intimidated police to the point where they cannot do their jobs effectively for fear of being branded racist. And that, Haley explains, is causing more problems in black communities in areas such as Ferguson and Baltimore.
“Most of the people who now live in terror because local police are too intimidated to do their jobs are black,” she stated.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley blasted the Black Lives Matter movement Wednesday for inflaming racial tensions that saw American cities such as Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri, vandalized in the last year. Instead of rioting and screaming at police officers, activists should learn from the example set by black and white residents and officials in South Carolina, where an unarmed black man was killed by police and a hate-fueled shooting unfolded at a historically black church this year, said Haley in a sweeping speech on race and inequality at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
“Black lives do matter, and they have been disgracefully jeopardized by the movement that has laid waste to Ferguson and Baltimore,” Haley said of the social justice group that has spread around the country in the last year. “Most of the people who now live in terror because local police are too intimidated to do their jobs are black.”
Not only do they have to pull back on proactive policing for fear of being branded racists, or even indicted should they use force, but law enforcement now has to worry about a major uptick in police shootings since the Black Lives Matter movement spawned.
Bravo to Haley for giving them a dose of reality.
