Jerk Neighbor Left a Note for a Handicapped Spot Parker, Who Was Actually THIS Person

A disabled veteran who received a scathing note from a neighbor at his apartment building issued an equally harsh response–and someone involved in the ordeal posted the whole thing to Reddit.

The note was left for a disabled veteran who regularly parks in his apartment’s handicap space. The letter says that the man doesn’t “look handicapped” (whatever that means). It reads:

Hey Buddy, Stop parking in handicap spots!!!! You DO NOT have a sticker nor do you look handicapped. I have taken a picture of your license plate and sent it to the office for towing by the courtesy officer. Stop being a jerk!!!!

The vet then takes to schooling the writer of the note with a little legal knowledge and then gets a bit more philosophical.

disabled veteran

Now this is how you respond to a neighbor who thinks they rule the world. Thumbs up to the veteran to standing firm for his convictions during this incident.

    Nice job veteran

Perfect answer! This veteran deserves a BIG Thanks, not a nasty note! He is owed an apology.

I think maybe the guy who left the original note had a Knee Jerk reaction to someone parking in a handicapped spot that he thought was not handicapped. He did not read the license plate and now might feel like a jerk. People who are not handicapped, but take advantage of handicapped parking by any means possible, is a thorn in the side of many. I am handicapped and I cannot tell you how often I see people park in handicapped spots then bounce out of cars because they have their parents or grandparents placards. This happens more often than not and it ticks a lot of people off.
