Jimmy John’s Employee Wasn’t Expecting THIS When He Refused To Serve Police

Edina, Minnesota Police Officer Marcus Limbeck stopped into a Jimmy John’s restaurant for a meal. Much to his surprise, he was refused service because he’s a police officer.

Fox 9 reported that Limbeck then sent out an email detailing the situation.

Edina patrol officer, Marcus Limbeck told his fellow officers in an e-mail the delivery driver yelled at him in the parking lot, “you coming down here to give us tickets now?” inside, the same driver told him, “you’re not getting a sandwich here.” “you’ve given almost everybody here a ticket.” “go get your sandwich someplace else.” The officer says the other workers were just laughing and snickering.

The franchise owner Dan Vansteenburg was so overcome with complaints from outraged customers that he fired the delivery driver.

“We have a lot of respect for law enforcement. We are a law abiding sandwich shop but we are on the road and we deliver sandwiches.” The franchise owner said.

What would you say to someone who refused service to a police officer? Please comment below.

I am assuming that perhaps this particular policeman was a bit of a jerk. Of course he should be served but I would not want to come into a place where I wasn’t welcome.

  2. Sid says:

I used to live in a town where the police force had to put it in standing orders that officers on duty were not to go to donut stores while on duty as it was sending the wrong message to the public. I have seen where I live now police spending six hours in the donut shop ignoring calls on their radios

    1. David says:

well sid, can you blame them?
they are being hunted down and killed at an alarming rate. they get into a major fight with someone trying to take their guns and , next thing you know, they are arrested and charged with murder.they are sitting in their cars and someone walks up and shoots them dead. that are attacked by the city leaders that should be on their side , what would you do in that situation. i don’t blame them one bit. if you are being attacked by an armed thug and call the police for help, how does he know you are not setting him up to be killed, or made to look like he is a bad cop?that is what they are facing , today, so i can’t blame them one bit if they don’t come into your neighborhood. just look at some of the posts on here.and ask yourself, would YOU go into that area and put your life on the line for fools like this?

  3. Cop(s) should have just gone somewhere else………..do they think their “BLUE PRIVILEGE” gives them a sense of entitlement ?

    1. David says:

oh!!! wait. when a gay couple wants a baker to bake them a cake, and the baker refuses on the grounds of their religious beliefs, they get what is coming to them in the form of fines and penalties. BUT, if a cop goes into a sandwich shop and wants a sandwich. and is treated like crap, he is supposed to just go elsewhere. what kind of two faced people has America become.

  4. Joseph says:

I would of FIRED the whole crew that was on at that time for refusing a police officer.Service…………….

  5. Phyll says:

Don’t break the law Davey boy and you won;t get stopped. Well, maybe you will, being SIP isn’t really a crime but deserved non the less. Stupid In Public. SIP

  6. Jamie says:

I wud say , just because you are a Delivery Driver, does not mean you don’t have to Obey the law!! Definitely Professional Crackheads running the Samich shop!

  7. Karl says:

Hahahaha, this is nothing new in small town USA. I once knew a cook in Michigan City Ind. who got stopped for a traffic violation, she turned to the officer told him the place where she worked and if he ever wanted another unburned steak again he better forget the ticket. He let her go. Small towns have always been weird. Hey, it happens in large towns too, or do you think all that free food and coffee given by restaurants is actually for free?

  8. Pete says:

Not the restaurant, just some of the frigging young idiots that work there. They are taking the lead from Black Lives Matter and other groups that want to undermine this nation.

  9. Carrie says:

He just gave all jimmy johns a bad name hope the owner tells all jj to invite all police free coffee or Pop. They might need them someday. Don’t hire thugs

  10. Carrie says:

I will never go to this place. They better never need the police.

  11. Mandy says:

I’d say “If you’re ever robbed or assaulted, or if you’re stranded somewhere, don’t call the police. Get your help somewhere else.”

  12. Paul says:

I would have fired the driver. and investigated everyone else working at the time and Writen wornings would be given to the ones laughing about it.

  13. Jackie says:

The owner did do the right thing. If I were him, I would have gone one step further and delivered free sandwiches to the local police station as a gesture of appreciation. It would be tempting to fire the entire staff that were present, but you just can’t. It’s too uncertain who did what and you’d just get in trouble with the labor department and open up yourself to lawsuits. Better to keep an eye on them and judge them on their subsequent behavior.

  14. Cyndi says:

I’ll keep eating Subway!! This is BS and the whole crew should have been let go!!

  15. Barry says:

no need to boycott, the owner did the right thing, and the person is no longer.

Now if this was in ca. he would probably be sued by the person fired for hurting his feelings

  16. David says:

The majority of tickets issued are for income, NOT public safety. It is a business, plain and simple.

    1. David- absolutely correct

like this absurd example- arresting a teenager for riding a bike w/o a helmet

  17. Lynne says:

Fire the disrespecting bunch. Offer free or half price combos for on duty officers.

  18. Jerry says:

I would hope that the people would boycott the establishment so they would not be able to stay in business.

    1. Pete says:

Why ? The owner did the right thing. Do you have a problem with understanding that idiots work in all businesses and make stupid decisions?

  19. Michael says:

Yep, fire them all..being from Minnesota, I am embarassed but understand how you can never get rid of undesireables.

  20. Forrest says:

I think I would fire EVERY employee who was in the store that day who did not stand up for this officer.
