Whoa. Kanye West, an entertainer who is mostly consumed with making every possible situation about himself, actually offered up praise for somebody else – And it was a Republican presidential candidate no less.
In fact, he actually said that each Republican candidate in the field has some quality about them that the others might be able to use.
In an interview with Vanity Fair earlier this week, West reiterated the fact that he is planning on running for President himself.
Via the Vanity Fair:
When I run for president, I’d prefer not to run against someone. I would be like “I want to work with you.” As soon as I heard [Ben] Carson speak, I tried for three weeks to get on the phone with him. I was like this is the most brilliant guy. And I think all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs. But the idea of this separation and this gladiator battle takes away from the main focus that the world needs help and the world needs all the people in a position of power or influence to come together.
When asked if he was still considering his presidential run in 2020, West didn’t hesitate.
“Oh, definitely,” he said.
West admitted that it would require hard work.
“I sit in clubs and I’m like, Wow, I’ve got five years before I go and run for office and I’ve got a lot of research to do, I’ve got a lot of growing up to do.”
It’d be a long road from the guy whose most famous political moment came when he accused President Bush of not caring about black people.
But hey, if one narcissist can manage to become President, why not another in Kanye?
