Do I really need to tell you that the media has a liberal bias?
Economist Tim Groseclose has a wonderful book titled “Left Turn” proving it scientifically. To little surprise, he found that among network news, FOX News is the only network with a rightward bias. Since the book was published, two other right-wing networks have sprung up (the One America News Network and Newsmax TV) but still, liberal networks dominate TV.
It’s often amusing to point out such bias seeing how the media reports on nearly identical stories that could be used to support a certain narrative. Take Salon.com as an example. Following the Boston bombing, they published an article titled “Muslims don’t need to apologize for the Tsarnaevs.” After white supremacist Dylan Roof shot up a black church, they published an article titled “White America must answer for the Charleston church massacre.”
So if Muslims do it – so what? But if whites do it, we’re all responsible. Such is the liberal logic over at Salon.
Even worse was MSNBC’s reporting on the RNC and DNC. Salon at least had the liberty of offering the defense that those two articles were written by different authors. See below on how the same MSNBC writer Steve Benen reported on Benghazi mother Pat Smith’s speech at the RNC vs. Khizir Khan’s speech. Khan is the father of a Muslim soldier who died fighting for America (which we at Headline Politics commend him for).
