This is Deep Blue, the largest shark ever to have been caught on film:
This terrifying footage was released by researcher Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, who captured the moment while diving in the waters off of Mexico’s Guadalupe Island.
At 20 feet long, Deep Blue is the largest shark to have been recorded. Part of the reason she is so big is because she was pregnant at the time Padilla saw her. But don’t let that fool you — Deep Blue is still one of the apex predators of the oceans.
Her and her pals are still swimming. It’s a timely reminder that, however blue and tranquil the seawater may appear, there might be something lurking underneath:
