It’s not Captain America who’s going to make America great again – it’s Donald Trump!
One of Marvel’s Avengers just gave a ringing endorsement to the Republican presidential candidate, saying he’d “100 percent want to run Trump’s campaign.”
“I’m on the bandwagon,” Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon in the various Avenger-related movies, including Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Ant-Man.
“I’m drinking the Kool-Aid.”
Mackie made the comments during a BET interview after being asked if he’d rather work on Trump’s campaign or Hillary Clinton’s.
“I would 100 percent want to run Trump’s campaign. 100 percent. I mean, first that’ll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump’s an easy sell,” he said. “When you look at Trump, he’s an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing. And I think if you’re a ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ candidate, people would identify with that.”
Mackie’s statement is purely about which campaign he’d prefer to run, himself having just starred in a film about the management of political campaigns. Yet when the interviewer subsequently asked the actor if his statements were “an endorsement for Trump,” Mackie said they were.
“I’m on the bandwagon. I’m drinking the Kool-Aid.”

Comment: It’d be fun to speculate which of the other Avenger’s might endorse which presidential candidate. For instance, anti-fracking loon Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, would likely lobby for Bernie Sanders after his prime choice, Elizabeth Warren, bowed out.
