We Need More Civil Discourse After Michael Moore’s Attack on Conservatives

Michael Moore is struggling to stay relevant – and it isn’t going too well.

His last documentary “Where To Invade Next” was his worst performing ever, earning only $2,912 per theater it was shown at. His prior film “Capitalism: A Love Story” earned nearly $60,000. Now, he’s trying to enter the public stage again by attacking Trump. Last week he released a surprise documentary called ‘Michael Moore in Trumpland,” which was filmed over the course of two days earlier this month.

The film captures a live stage performance by Moore in a town that leans heavily Trump (though that was not necessarily true of the audience he performed for). Mr. Moore has a knack for going into the lion’s den and poking the lion, but that wasn’t entirely the case here. He began with some self-deprecating jokes about liberals , then throws in some mild jabs at Mr. Trump, but nothing that would cause anyone to bolt from the room or shout him down. Overall, the film was much more pro-Hillary than anti-Trump.

But don’t be fooled – the man can’t stand Trump, and in attacking him, made perhaps the dumbest public comment of his on record to date.

While talking to the press last week for his surprise new documentary “Michael Moore in TrumpLand,” Moore made it very clear what he thinks about Trump’s supporters.

Moore said the aim of his documentary was to persuade undecided voters to vote for Clinton. But he added that he wants those who are supporting Trump to think about the damage Trump would allegedly do to the country as president, labeling supporters “legal terrorists.”

I want them to think about the damage they could do by being a legal terrorist on November 8,” Moore said during an interview with Rolling Stone.

On second thought, those “basket of deplorables” comments sound pretty tame in comparison. Who knew we’re supposed to believe the only people who will actually say the words “radical Islamic terrorism” in this country. are terrorists themselves?

When asked to elaborate on what he meant, Moore doubled down to say the term applies to “any” of Trump’s supporters. He said:

Any. Legally, you have a right to vote on November 8. You can go in there and even though you’re not necessarily in favor of Trump and you don’t like him that much and you know he’s a little crazy, you also know he’s going to blow up the system. The system that took your job and house away from you. You get to get back at the system now and blow it up and this is the only day you can do it legally. He’s told everybody that’s what he’s going to do. He’s the outsider who is going to ride into town and blow up the old way. So you, as a voter, get to participate in the detonation. He’s going to get a lot of votes from people who actually just want to sit back and watch the thing blow up.

Moore also compared Trump to a pedophile during the interview.

“You have to protect the population from him like you do with a pedophile,” he said. “A pedophile doesn’t need to be in prison; they’re sick. They have to be separated from us so they don’t hurt children. But you have to treat it that way.”

Just an FYI – those comments are coming from this guy:

Speak for yourself bud.

Who allows this guy to influence their opinion? If you’re getting your information from a college dropout and the former host of a political talk show that lasted 17 episodes (and another that lasted an entire 24 episodes) – you’re probably voting for Hillary Clinton.
