Former heavyweight champion of the world “Iron” Mike Tyson found himself defending GOP frontrunner Donald Trump again. Tabloid magazine TMZ caught up with the boxing legend to ask him about his support for Trump after they felt Trump had offended Americans during his campaign. One thing’s certain: Iron Mike doesn’t think Trump is as polarizing as everyone thinks.
This isn’t Tyson’s first endorsement of the former Celebrity Apprentice host. Back in October, he said Barack Obama’s plans “aren’t working” and he thinks America should “try something new” this go ’round.
Is Trump the right choice, though, especially seeing as he suggested a new plan to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the U.S.? Notice I had to include temporarily because Trump never said his ban would be permanent, but the liberal media won’t report that. Well, Tyson doesn’t see it as a deal-breaker.
Tyson felt it wasn’t a deal-breaker:
“Hey, listen, anybody that was ever president of the United States offended some group of people,” he said. “He deserves a chance.”
“Keep it fair,” the retired heavyweight champ said. “Man for man, debate for debate.”
“You can talk about Trump, Trump can talk about those people,” he added of the crowded GOP field. “We’ll see who wins.”
Check out the video report:
Tyson endorsed Trump in an interview on Oct. 26.
“Let’s run America like a business, where no colors matter,” Tyson said at the time.
Here’s that interview with the Huffington Post:
Mike made a good point actually. All politicians say things that offend people. Let’s just see who the country decides to vote for.
