Mother of Slain Navy SEAL Demands Apology from Obama Appointee

Debbie Lee, the mother of slain Navy SEAL sniper Marc Alan Lee, penned an open letter to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey for downplaying the loss of the Iraqi city of Ramadi, a location where her son became the first Navy SEAL casualty in the line of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Dempsey responded to reports that Ramadi was about to fall to Islamic State terrorists by saying the city was “not symbolic in any way.”

Debbie Lee wrote that she had “tears … flowing down my cheeks” at the callous comments.

“You sir owe an apology to the families whose loved ones blood was shed in Ramadi,” she said.

Via Fox News:

I am shaking and tears are flowing down my cheeks as I watch the news and listen to the insensitive, pain inflicting comments made by you in regards to the fall of Ramadi.

“The city itself is not symbolic in any way”? Oh, really? Are you willing to meet with me and with the families who have lost a son, daughter, husband, wife, father, mother, aunt, uncle, grandson, or teammate?

My son Marc Lee was the first Navy SEAL who sacrificed his life in Ramadi Iraq Aug 2, 2006. His blood is still in that soil and forever will be. Remember that was when so many of our loved ones were taken from us. You said that “it’s not been declared part of the caliphate on one hand or central to the future of Iraq.” My son and many others gave their future in Ramadi. Ramadi mattered to them. Many military analysts say that as goes Ramadi so goes Iraq.

You sir owe an apology to the families whose loved ones blood was shed in Ramadi. Ramadi matters to us and is very symbolic to us. You need to apologize to our troops whose bodies were blown to pieces from IEDs and bullet holes leaving parts and pieces behind, Ramadi matters to them. You need to apologize to our troops who endured the extreme temperatures and battled the terrorists in some of the worst battlefields in Iraq, Ramadi matters to them. They carry vivid memories of the battles and the teammates whose future is gone, Ramadi matters to them.

You and this administration have minimized that Ramadi could fall, now you are minimizing that it is falling, but you Sir WILL NOT minimize the sacrifice my son Marc Lee made or any of our brave warriors!

Lee is demanding that the Chairman apologize for his insensitive comments.

Over 75 American soldiers and Marines were killed trying to secure Ramadi in 2006, a city that was referred to as the center of the insurgency in Iraq.

Senator John McCain ripped Dempsey for the comments as well, saying he was essentially telling ISIS that “we don’t care” if they take over a city that dozens of American soldiers fought and died for.

“He never fails to surprise me with his insensitivity,” McCain explained. He has a “sort of willingness to knee-jerk whatever way he can to support the moral bankruptcy of this failed foreign policy of Barack Obama.”

What do you think of Dempsey’s comments? Should he apologize?

Today if you join the armed services under B O you’re crazy. ( or in the future if another nut gets in) You are very disposable without an after thought. If you are a Christian you’ll get no support either!

What’s sad is that he’s telling the truth. We never should have gone into Iraq in the first place, and those servicemen should still be alive with families here in the US. We didn’t even share in the spoils of war… just paid to rebuild the infrastructure after paying to blast it to pieces and more importantly, paying with the lives of our loved ones. The government, whether Democrat or Republican, does not care about Americans at all. If they did, the borders would not be wide open and the army would be used to secure them if necessary. As it is, ISIS has a camp outside Juarez and can come into the country at will. And the open borders serve Obama’s policy to destroy American culture as well, by importing millions of dirt-poor Latinos who think communism is a great idea.

Mrs. Lee, you should be angry with Paul Wolfowitz and the other neocons who put the interests of Israel and globalism ahead of the American people. They are the ones who pushed the whole adventure in the first place, and are responsible for the needless death of your son. His death was honorable, because of the traditions he believed in and upheld, but ultimately, the task he had been set was not honorable at all. We didn’t need to be in Iraq. Sure, Saddam was a scumbag, but he was not messing with US, and we wound up getting more Iraqis killed than he did. Our fine and honorable servicemen should not be wasted by those who are not fit to lick their boots, and the people at the very top, who pulled the strings of BOTH Bush and Obama with regards to foreign policy, are evil, and wish only to destroy the honorable. They don’t care about us. They use us as cannon fodder for their own selfish ends, and those ends are not in the interest of America or its people.
