A new ad released by the campaign for Donald Trump mocks fellow presidential candidate Jeb Bush as being the cure for insomnia.
The ad asks, “Having trouble sleeping at night?” It then cuts to video of a Jeb supporter falling asleep in the middle of one of his speeches. The woman was caught yawning, checking her watch, and then nodding off as the former Florida governor is speaking about health care.
Trump has repeatedly referred to Bush as a “low energy” and “boring” candidate. His new ad hammers home that theme in a humorous, infomercial-like manner.
via Business Insider:
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump released a fake commercial on Tuesday that proclaimed one of his rivals, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), can help people fall asleep.
“Having trouble sleeping at night? Too much energy? Need some low energy?” the narrator in the Trump video asks. “Jeb — for all your sleeping needs.”
The video included footage of an audience member nodding off during one of Bush’s speeches at New Hampshire’s Foss Manufacturing. After that footage first emerged last week, Bush’s campaign said the sleeping woman woke up at 4 a.m. that day for a 12-hour shift.
Trump added on Twitter that it’s time to “Wake up Jeb supporters!”
Bush later responded with a video clip of his own, one showing Trump offering praise for Hillary Clinton and her ability to “do a good job” in dealing with Iran.
