Matt Pieper, a news anchor for News 12 the Bronx, got caught on a hot mic ripping welfare recipients and saying parents need to “do their f***ing job” and suggested they stop “rely(ing) on government assistance for their entire lives.”
The incident occurred during a broadcast last week, and the station apologized saying Pieper and his co-workers conversations were aired due to a “technical error.”
News 12 Bronx anchor said a bit too much on the air this week. Matt Pieper got picked up on live TV mocking people on government assistance and dropping an f-bomb.
Pieper said that parents need to “do their f***ing jobs and walk their little kids to school on their own, and not rely on everyone else, kind of like people rely on government assistance for their entire lives.”
Pieper would then ask, “I mean, how old are these kids?” The field reporter was also heard suggesting a twitter hashtag of #EBT.

Pieper was since fired from his job at News 12, and he issued an apology on Twitter but said his comments were actually relayed from somebody else in the newsroom.
