Two state representatives from Pennsylvania were victims in an attempted armed robbery, and one had to exchange gunfire with the criminals after being fired upon first.
Marty Flynn and Ryan Bizzaro – both Democrats from Pennsylvania – were approached by two teenagers shortly after dinner, and told to hand over their wallets. One of the teenagers was armed.
Flynn, a former MMA fighter and prison guard, has a license to carry a handgun, and had to use the weapon after the teen opened fire.
Neither lawmaker handed anything over to the would-be robbers. Four teenagers were eventually arrested, with one of them now facing attempted homicide charges.
Flynn released a statement saying “We certainly are going to stand up for ourselves and not become victims.”
