Pamela Geller, the anti-Islamic activist who helped organize the ‘Draw Muhammad’ contest in Garland, Texas, slammed an American fencing champion for trying to wear an Islamic headscarf during competition at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Geller slammed the decision as another example of “Islamic supremacism.”
Geller told Breitbart News that Ibtihaj Muhammad wearing her hijab was the latest act of “imposing Islam on the secular marketplace.”
“Whether it’s in the workplace, whether it’s in the school, it’s Islamic supremacism is what it is,” she said. “Sharia, Islamic law, asserts its authority over non-Muslims.
“This is the problem and this is something that is never discussed,” Geller said.
The 30-year-old Olympian will be the first American athlete to wear a hijab during competition, earning praise from President Obama who urged her “to bring home the gold.”
No word on whether or not the gold medal would have to be be hidden under her headscarf which is used to instill modesty in women.
Comment: Is America’s first hijab-wearing Olympic athlete a positive thing, or another demonstration of “Islamic supremacy” as Geller claims?
