Sheriff Clay Higgins came to national prominence through a series of tough-minded ‘Crime Stopper’ videos, the most recent of which featured him telling ruthless gang members that he’s about to kick their a**.
In that video – seen here – Higgins said he’d meet the gangsters anytime and “return fire with superior fire” warning, “you won’t walk away.”
Despite the fact that the Sheriff filmed the video alongside numerous leaders in the black community who also want murderers off the street, PC liberals at the ACLU were furious and criticized Higgins for his tough talk.
Higgins responded with a gigantic ‘screw you.’
Via The Advocate:
“I was not forced to resign. The sheriff didn’t ask for my resignation. Rather, I’ve turned in my badge as a matter of conscience,” Higgins said, wearing civilian clothes and a cowboy hat.
“I would die rather than sacrifice my principles. I would leave my wife without a husband, my children without a daddy, rather than kneel to the very forces of evil that I have so long stood against,” he said.
KATC reports on an expanded statement by Higgins, itself a thing of beauty:
“I will not kneel to violent street gangs. I will not kneel to murderers or the parents that raised them. I will not kneel to a discredited, wanna-be, black activist that doesn’t really have the best interest of his people in mind, who just wants to make a profit,” says Higgins. “I will not kneel to bureaucrats in Baton Rouge, Washington or anywhere else who have forgotten why they wear a badge and who have forgotten who they serve.”
God bless people like Clay Higgins who refuse to bow to pressure from liberals who would rather support the rights of murderers and criminals than the rights of law enforcement to bring them to justice.
And congratulations to the ACLU. You managed to chase off the one man who could have stopped these violent thugs.
