Phil Robertson on ISIS: America Must ‘Convert Them or Kill Them’

On Fox News with Sean Hannity, Duck Dynasty’s patriarch Phil Robertson appeared to promote his new book, unPHILtered: The Way I See It. And during the conversation he, in no uncertain terms, described what should happen to members of the Islamic State (ISIS) terror organization.

Robertson opined:

Convert them or kill them. One or the other.

And,

It’s not like our country with a standing army, and we line up and do battle with a certain amount of rules. […]This is more like world wide gang warfare. I think… we’re going to have to deal with this group way more harshly than we have up until this point.

Hannity knew how explosive these comments are, and gave Robertson a chance to re-state his tough position. But Robertson responded boldly, noting that he would always rather find common ground in faith with an enemy, but this opponent is looking for a gun fight:

I would rather preach the gospel of Jesus to them, however, if it’s a gun fight, and a gun fight alone, if that’s what they’re looking for, me, personally I’m prepared for either one.

If only we had a State Department and President who was so clear about out to deal with evil.

  1. Rick says:

Organized religion is the cause of more murder than any other cause. For a so called Christian to proclaim convert them or kill them sounds an awful lot like the Muslims he’s talking about.
