Rand Paul Just Did the Most Patriotic Thing You’ll Read All Day

rand paul returns money to treasury

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is a staunch defender of the Constitution and believes in a limited government with less taxes.

Well, Senator Paul just made a huge announcement, as he returned $620,000 to the United States Treasury. The money Paul returned was savings from his official FY 2016 operating budget, which brings his total amount returned to the taxpayers to over $3 million since taking office in January 2011.

In a statement, Paul argued “It’s easy to picture Washington’s out-of-control spending as a massive untamable beast. So I determined to show change is possible by starting in the area under my control, while working everywhere else I could to stop ‘business as usual.'”

Paul stressed the commitment he made to both Kentuckians and the country, promising to “stand for smaller, more efficient government, balanced budgets, and spending restraint. I’m proud of my staff and I have kept that pledge while operating of the most active federal offices.”

America needs more members of Congress as patriotic as Senator Rand Paul! Not only does he preach fiscal responsibility, but he practices it as well, to the tune of $3 million since 2011.
