ABC reporter Tom Llamas battled Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over a term for illegal immigrants that he says is offensive. Llamas probably wishes he could have this one back, as Trump remained true to form saying it’s not an offensive term, it simply isn’t PC enough for the media, and that he would continue to use it.
The term is ‘anchor baby,’ which describes children born in America to a mother who entered the country illegally.
Llamas went on the attack, but Trump never retreated.
Take a look:
“That’s an offensive term!” Llamas told Trump in footage that aired Thursday on Good Morning America. “People find that hurtful.”
“You mean it’s not politically correct, and yet everybody uses it,” Trump shot back.
“Look it up in the dictionary,” Llamas yelled. “It’s offensive!”
“I’ll use the word anchor baby. Excuse me! I’ll use the word anchor baby!” Trump said.
You know what is apparently not offensive to the ABC reporter? People entering the country where their first act on American soil is to break the laws of a sovereign nation.
Also, as Bobby Jindal poignantly stated, this is the same media that takes offense to the term ‘anchor baby,’ but doesn’t take offense to babies being aborted and harvested by Planned Parenthood.
“You know, what I find offensive is Hillary Clinton, the left, when you look at those Planned Parenthood videos — they refuse to call them babies, they call it fetal tissue, they call them specimens,” Jindal explained. “That’s what’s offensive.”
Fortunately, Trump put the reporter in his place.
Do you think the term ‘anchor baby’ is an offensive slur?
