Horrible Virus Outbreak at the RNC – Attendees Quarantined

Republican Convention Norovirus

Via StatNews:

A handful of Republican staff members in Cleveland for the GOP convention were reported to be suffering Tuesday from a possible norovirus infection.

And if there are a few people with norovirus, it’s likely there will be more.

As many as 11 members of the California delegation’s advance team are showing symptoms that are consistent with the norovirus, according to Peter Schade, the Erie County health commissioner, who is investigating the outbreak. They are staying at a hotel in Sandusky, Ohio, about an hour from Cleveland.

Norovirus causes those infected to experience intense vomiting and diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration if left untreated.
This is not good. At a crowded event where literally thousands are coming into contact with each other, every precaution must be taken. Hopefully they were able to contain this outbreak before it spread to too many people.

There hasn’t been a lot of great news coming out of this Republican National Convention. From protests to plagiarized speeches. Hopefully the next few days will be better.

Last time Norovirus was in the news? When Chiptole food-poisoned thousands.

Stay tuned for all of our RNC coverage!
