Following the coordinated terrorists attacks in Paris on Friday, buildings throughout the world lit up in the colors of the French flag to show support. Red, white, and blue drenched many well known buildings throughout the world to visually express solidarity with the people of France.
But one important building failed to participate. The White House didn’t turn those lights on for our oldest ally after they were targeted by terrorists for a second time. Following the terrorist attacks in Paris at Charlie Hebdo and a kosher market earlier this year, President Obama skipped the Paris Unity Rally. He didn’t even send a high ranking official.
Actor James Wood noticed the snub and tweeted out his disgust.

When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage, President Obama flipped the switch on the lights, turning the White House into a rainbow to support that cause. Yet, he couldn’t do the same for France after Paris had its first curfew since 1944 and its bloodiest day since WWII.
Where do you think Obama’s priorities are? Why didn’t he light up the White House for our oldest ally? Please join the discussion.
