Major Shakeup Coming to Fox News

Fox News Roger Ailes
A few weeks back we reported that Fox News host Gretchen Carlson had filed a lawsuit against the head of the news channel Roger Ailes, accusing him of sexual harassment. Since then several more women have come forward in secret and a few have even come out to defend Ailes.

Who we haven’t heard from yet though is the Murdoch family that owns and operates Fox. We might soon, and their decision on this controversy will have MAJOR effects.

Via New York Magazine:

Roger Ailes’s tenure as the head of Fox News may be coming to an end. Rupert Murdoch and sons Lachlan and James — co-chairmen and CEO, respectively, of parent company 21st Century Fox — have settled on removing the 76-year-old executive, say two sources briefed on a sexual-harassment investigation of Ailes being conducted by New York law firm Paul, Weiss. After reviewing the initial findings of the probe, James Murdoch is said to be arguing that Ailes should be presented with a choice this week to resign or face being fired. Lachlan is more aligned with their father, who thinks that no action should be taken until after the GOP convention this week. Another source confirms that all three are in agreement that Ailes needs to go.

This is huge. Roger Ailes has been THE force behind Fox News’ meteoric rise to the type of the cable news game. If the Murdochs are focused on firing him, then it must be because the allegations made by Carlson and others are true.

I’m glad the Murdoch’s are taking a proactive step here. Too often people in power try to cover-up incidents like this and it always makes the situation worse. We all know the cover-up is what busts you, not the crime.

Do you think Ailes deserves to be fired? Share your thoughts!

This is being so misunderstood, it’s silly. Apparently Ailes has a track record going way back of expecting sexual favors for jobs from women. See: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/07/six-more-women-allege-ailes-sexual-harassment.html
Ailes could put an end to all the charges if he were innocent, all he would have to do is offer to take a lie detector test if his accusers would also, with his lawyer present, and have it videotaped. This is what innocent people do when accused. While it won’t hold up in court it will stop the accuser in their tracks, such that charges will not even be brought. Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby, Herman Cain, and now Roger Ailes all had this option but chose not to do it, so I will make my own conclusions. Ailes should go, but given that Ruppert Murdock is retiring and leaving 20th Century Fox to his 2 liberal sons, it does not look good for conservative cable news. Maybe Trump or the Koch Brothers will buy Fox News and save it.

If Ailes is to leave, and he probably should, how should Gretchen be treated, she obviously would have kept quiet if she had been allowed to remain at the top of the FOX ELITIST GROUP ?? How about women who accessed jobs and promotions by giving Ailes “sex, teases , flirts, or silence, in reality these women, including Carlson , are no better than Ailes !

Edward you talk like a liberal DemocRAT . I guess if it was your Mother you would sit back and watch! You are so Stupid and I would tell it to your face,

  4. Edward says:

To accuse a 76 year old man of sexual harassment is laughable. That’s not to say it can’t happen, but to what degree? What exactly did he do/say?

This whole kerfuffle was bought about by a couple of disgruntled females who couldn’t make the grade.

Let Ailes continue in his job. He has done wonders for Fox…..Fox should initiate an extensive investigation, and if the allegations cannot be proven, then sue the pants off the people leveling the charges….It is not fair to dismiss a man who worked so hard merely on allegations………..

  5. Dora says:

We know if they go left, then Fox will go crashing down. It hurt them badly when Megan Kelly did her best to off Trump. Keep it to the Right, or go down.

Although I’ve always admired the meteoric rise of FOX and many of their online show hosts, I’ve had a nagging feeling about Roger Ailes, and even though one is innocent until proven guilty, the “possible” charges of sexual harassment, do NOT look good for the network, and probablt it’s time for Ailes at 76, take “his golden parachute” and retire !

    1. stonemike says:

Yeah boy, but if the payoff rumored to be going to Ailes is correct, it looks like he got screwed, he has built a “powerhouse network” and helped make it the most popular on TV and cable ! But its “like minimum wage” when you compare it to the billions Hillary has stolen and accessed thru her treason and selling lethal commodities TO OUR ENEMIES !

  8. Gary says:

Here we go again. A disgruntled employee loses contract and sues for sexual harassment. Once accused there is no defense and others come out of the woodwork yelling me too me too. If the lady is not up to working in the world where men are they should stay out of it. You want equality but with special privileges and that is not equality. So Gretchen go home and stay there you are not up to the standards of the job. Ailes may or may not have put the move on you, but either way you are supposed to be a big girl wearing big girl panties and should have handled it. Instead you play games. When the big bosses wimp out they will no longer be able to get the best help because no one wants to work for weasels.

    1. secularsceptic says:

There actually is a defense against such charges. When a young women disappeared just before her wedding in Georgia years ago, the press wrongfully accused her boyfriend of being criminally involved. He talked to his lawyer, and agreed to take a lie detector test, if it was video taped and his lawyer was present. That would have worked. It was moot, because his girlfriend was found travelling by bus in another state on her own volition. Note that Bill Cosby, Bill Clinton, and Herman Cain all had that option, but chose not to take it. I assume Roger won’t do it either because there is probably at least 20% truth to Gretchin’s accusations, maybe he said it as a bad joke, or at a party when everyone was slightly high.
