Russian Approval of Putin Soars to Highest Level in Years; Obama Lowest in Years

President Vladimir Putin’s popularity in Russia is now at its highest level in years. In a recent Gallup Poll more than 8 out of 10 Russians say that they approve of Putin’s leadership. The improvement in poll results is likely propelled by the national pride associated with the annexation of Crimea in March on the heels of the Sochi Olympic Games in February.

For us Americans, we have to deal with President Obama who continues to languish in the polls. Even MSNBC has trouble defending all the issues that the President encounters on a daily basis.  As of the latest polls (July 27-29th) President Obama’s Gallop Poll ratings are near the bottom of his presidency.  His approval rating stands at 39%, while 55% disapprove of the job that he is doing in office.

This summer, President Barack Obama has skated from crisis to crisis, from insurgents invading Iraq, a flood of illegal minors crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, the re-ignition of Israel-Palestinian violence, and the ongoing battles with Russia.
