I don’t care about apologies. This one reminds me of Hillary Clinton saying she is sorry for merging her private emails with government emails. It rings hollow.

Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte has confessed to lying about a story he created while he was in Rio which caused law enforcement to investigate the bogus claims until they found it never happened. I think Lochte should be ashamed of his behavior not just serving up a distant apology. I think he should be banned from the next Olympics as a consequence. He’s supposed to be there because he is one of the best and also represent the USA. Well if he’s representing me, that not how I act or behave.

From The Mirror:

US gold medallist swimmer Ryan Lochte has apologised after wrongly claiming he was robbed at gunpoint during the Rio Olympics.

The athlete issued the apology through his Twitter page this afternoon.

It comes after the US Olympic Committee issued an apology, clarifying that Lochte and three other members of its swimming team were not mugged.

In his apology, Lochte wrote: “I want to apologise for my behaviour last weekend – for not being more careful and candid in how I described the events of that early morning and for my role in taking the focus away from the many athletes fulfilling their dreams if participating in the Olympics.

“I waited to share these thoughts until it was confirmed that the legal situation was addressed and it was clear that my teammates would be arriving home safely.

“It’s traumatic to be out late with your friends in a foreign country – with a language barrier – and have a stranger point a gun at you and demand money to let you leave, but regardless of the behaviour of anyone else that night, I should have been much more responsible in how I handled myself and for that am sorry to my teammates, my fans, my fellow competitors, my sponsors, and the hosts of this great event.

“I am very proud to represent my country in Olympic competition and this was a situation that could and should have been avoided. I accept responsibility for my role in this happening and have learned some valuable lessons.

Too late, Ryan Lochte! You disgraced yourself and your team and you embarrassed the United States of America! Shame on you! You were a winner, now you a just a lying loser in my book! On behalf of the entire United States of America, we apologize sending this idiot to Brazil.

I am not asking for his medals to be taken away because this didn’t happen on the field but let me you as you what would you do to him for causing an international incident based on a lie? Share your comments below and let me know what you think.
