Sarah Palin is on the trail for Donald Trump, who she has endorsed.
Today in Tulsa,Oklahoma she made some comments about her son Track, who was arrested on domestic violence charges this week.
Track served in combat overseas and might have brought some scars of war home with him.
And Palin has a controversial idea on where this damage came from:
“My son, a combat veteran … was fighting for you all, America, in the war zone. My son, like so many others, came back a bit different, they come back hardened,” she said at a Tulsa, Okla. Trump rally Wednesday, of her 26-year-old son Track, who spent a year deployed in Iraq with the Army.
“They come back wondering if there is that respect for what it is that their fellow soldiers and airman and every other member of the military so sacrificially have given to this country,” she added. “And that starts from the top.”
“That comes from our own President,” Palin said. “Where they have to look at him and wonder, ‘Do you know what we go through? Do you know what we’re trying to do to secure America?'”
“So when my own son is going through what he goes through coming back, I can certainly relate with other families who kind of feel these ramifications of some PTSD and some of the woundedness that our soldiers do return with,” Palin said.
“And it makes me realize, more than ever, it is now or never, for the sake of America’s finest, that we have that commander-in-chief who will respect them and honor them,” she said.
“You deserve someone who will treats veterans better than illegal immigrants in America,” she added.
Wow. She is not holding back. She truly believes that Obama’s lack of respect for our troops is to blame (in part) for Track’s PTSD.
She might not be wrong. The VA has become a death-trap for those who have served us.
