The ice has finally melted from America’s Great Lakes … revealing something amazing that was recently captured by the US Coast Guard.
According to the Conservative Tribune, the ice left behind crystal clear waters; so clear that the shipwrecks beneath the waves could be seen and photographed:
The Great Lakes, after all, were infamous for their treachery. Storms sent vessels crashing into the water; in 1975, for example, the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald sank in the middle of a tempest.
And, as you’ll see in the Tribune’s report, the unique conditions which revealed the wrecks may not be duplicated for another ten years. So go see them now while you have the chance!
Wear warm clothes though, because while it looks warm, the water is still chilly!
