Lois Lerner has refused to speak to Congress for a year and a half about the IRS scandal which targeted conservative groups that had “Tea Party” and “patriots” in the name.
But she did agree to an in-depth interview with Politico.
Lerner made several bold statements in the interview:
“I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Regardless of whatever else happens, I know I did the best I could under the circumstances and I’m not sorry for anything I did.”
“I’m proud of my career and the job I did for this country.”
If Lerner didn’t do anything wrong, as she claims, why did she repeatedly plead the fifth in Congressional investigations?
Lerner’s desperate assertions of innocence are about as believable as her hard drive crashing and all of her emails miraculously disappearing.
