Aggravated with the PC/liberal crowd and their War on Christmas? Maybe not as aggravated as this guy!
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, a Republican, posted to Facebook that he’s about to get all up in someone’s grill if they decide to say ‘Happy Holidays’ to him instead of ‘Merry Christmas.’
Of course, most people see that post and understand that the phrase ‘If somebody does X … I just might slap them’ is a figure of speech.
Not the folks over at Raw Story, who ran with a headline that began ‘Seasons Beatings!’
Oh the horror!
They followed with:
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller may be taking the so-called “war on Christmas” a little too literally.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the Republican official said that he would “slap” anyone who wished him “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.”
“If one more person says Happy Holidays to me I just might slap them. Either tell me Merry Christmas or just don’t say anything,” Miller wrote.
The message included a photo of a cowboy riding a bull in front of a sign that read: “We Will Never Take Christ Out Of Christmas.”
The post had been liked over 7,000 times by Thursday morning.
However, hundreds of people responded to Miller’s post by wishing him Happy Holidays, including a GIF from the Texas Democratic Party.
This isn’t the first time Miller has caused controversy:
And to be fair, the Democrat Party does try to take God out of everything, including their own party platform. Remember when they booed God?
So why wouldn’t they be thrilled to avoid saying ‘Merry Christmas?’
The post has thus far garnered over 7,000 comments, mostly from liberals who don’t understand the harmless figure of speech and think they’re actually being witty with their comebacks to Miller.
