A teacher in Salem, Utah is facing mounting criticism after instructing a 9th grade class to make a recruiting poster for ISIS as one of their homework assignments.
The lesson was brought to light by a local mother who discovered her daughter working on the assignment.
According to a local media report:
Annie Langston couldn’t believe her 14-year-old daughter Mikalia was given the assignment.
“My initial response was, ‘there’s no way you’re going to do this assignment,’” Langston said.
Langston said: “In light of what happened in Paris, is that the reason for this assignment? I feel a different assignment or report could’ve been chosen or a discussion in class about the tragic events.”
Once the assignment was brought to the school’s attention, the teacher canceled the assignment and apologized.

If this was my daughter I would have done the same thing. We can’t have this in our schools. This is not acceptable for a teacher to think she could get away with it in the first place.
