A Texas police officer made a routine traffic stop, but the driver of the vehicle and his passengers seemed to belong in a galaxy far, far away.
Check out the dash cam video …
Of course, the video was filmed to be a Star Wars-themed viral video, all in good fun.
This week another Houston-area police department released its own “Star Wars”-themed viral video, featuring Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Han Solo, and a diminutive Jawa.
Captain Mike McCoy with the Fulshear Police Department tells the Houston Chronicle that the video, which was filmed with off-duty officers on Sunday night, came about with help from a local film fan.
“The professional grade costumes came from a resident who’s known to throw May the Fourth parties every year,” he says.
He says that video, currently making the rounds on Facebook, is a take-off on the usual dash camera videos the department posts on its page. This also made it cheaper to shoot with existing equipment.
Earlier this year, in a very real video, Chewbacca was arrested at a polling station in the Ukraine for violating an election laws.
Comment: What do you think of the police department’s Star Wars-themed video – all in good fun, or waste of time and effort by the PD?
