We once stormed the beaches of Normandy. We once built railroads across the wilderness. We found gold in California and built it into one of the world’s top ten economies. Now, it appears we’re unable to open cheese without cause for concern.
If there’s any proof that American culture is headed downhill, it’s this latest story from an American cheese company synonymous with our childhoods:
Kraft has recalled a selection of American cheese singles over fears people may choke on the plastic wrapping. Apparently, a small section of the plastic has the potential to remain connected to the cheese after unwrapping.
And worse from the actual recall:
Even if you have managed to get through the plastic wrapper nightmare and are currently frying up a grilled cheese sandwich, Kraft has a dire warning: “Consumers who purchased this product should not eat it.” Put down your sandwich.
Is this the most ridiculous recall you’ve ever seen?
