This Disabled Teen’s Rendition of the National Anthem Will Blow You Away!

national anthem

The first time I heard Marlana VanHoose sing, she hit one of my favorite notes in the Star Spangled Banner and I got chills! I had to know who this young girl was and let me tell you, she’s extraordinary.

Marlana was born with Cytomeglo virus (CMV), by the time she was a few weeks old it was discovered that she was blind. Her optic nerve never formed. She was not expected to live past one year.

But God knew better, He had special plans for Marlana. After Marlana turned a year old her body healed from the virus and that is when it all began. Marlana was humming “Jesus loves me” before she talked and by the time she was two years old she taught herself to play the piano.

Marlana explains on her website that she doesn’t need to see here on Earth because she knows the first face she’ll in Heaven is that of Jesus Christ! Watch her sing the National Anthem at the University of Kentucky Women’s Basketball game (below) and let her extraordinary voice lift you up!
